I Am On The Side Of Traders, Govt, Not Individuals, Says Ogbaru Main Market Boss

Newly appointed Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Main Market, otherwise known as “Relief Market”, Chief Ogbogu Nwanodi has pledged to cooperate with traders  for the development of the market and Anambra State in general.

Chief Nwanodi an indigene of Ogbaru Local Government made the pledge while reacting to a message of commendation  by a group of market women from “oduigbo” section of the market.

The women had in their interaction with our correspondent yesterday extended their support to the new Chairman where they requested his intervention in constructing a staircase at “Odu azu” section of the market entrance gate.

The women who pleaded anonymity for fear of victimisation by opposition market major stakeholders said as an indigene of Ogbaru the new Chairman was capable of returning the market on the path of peace and glory.

They prayed for stable  peace  to return to the market which they claimed had for long eluded the market due to leadership squabbles.

In his reaction, Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ogbaru Main Market near Onitsha, Chief Ogbogu Nwanodi expressed joy with the women group, adding that his administration would do everything possible to accommodate  views and aspirations of majority of the traders. He also promised to accede to their request within the week.

He reminded traders that his administration would always be on their side and that of government, stressing that individuals without collective interests of other traders would be given the back seat.

Chief Ogbogu,an indigene of Ogbaru and Chief Security Officer of the market noted that his administration would continue to support programmes and policies of the State Government for the overall development of the State

He thanked Gov.Chukwuma Soludo and the State Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Dr Obinna Ngonadi for their wisdom in piloting the affairs of the State and the Ministry.
