Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 presidential election, has vowed to explore all legitimate means to secure the mandate freely given to him by Nigerians at the polls.

Obi who made the pledge on Thursday, declared that he won the ballot but was robbed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Addressing a world press conference at Transcorp Hotel, Abuja on Thursday afternoon, Obi said: “The election was conducted and results announced as programmed. It does not meet the criteria of free, fair and credible election. The people of Nigeria have been robbed”

Obi assured his supporters that “this is not the end, but the beginning of our struggle for a new Nigeria”.

“Datti and I won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians. Let me assure the good people of Nigeria that we will explore all legal and peaceful means to reclaim our mandate,” the LP Presidential Candidate said.

According to Obi, his mandate was stolen and he will do everything legitimately possible to reclaim it.

He called on his supporters to exercise some patience and restraint and urged them not to resort to any form of violence.

He pledged to challenge what he called the rascality, in court.

He thanked Obidients and all other Nigerians who trooped out en masse to vote on February 25, asking them to remain calm and peaceful as he, Datti and LP fight for justice.

Obi’s running mate in the election, Yusuf Datti-Ahmed, had earlier on Wednesday, hinted that they would challenge the outcome of the election at the courts.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has also said he would challenge the announcement by INEC.
