“He took me to the former President’s wife, insisting that I should be the governor.
“We also went to Jonathan’s mother and she took up the matter with his son that I should be the governor,”.
Umahi noted that the matter was then settled and that the clarification was for those who claim they made him governor.
“”Eze also funded the house of assembly candidates, I and my deputy and those I will not mention.
“This is a lesson for Ebonyi people that we should always appreciate those who have done good to us.
“The development of the state will not be complete without mentioning Chief Arthur Eze and that is why we named the flyover after him,”
Inaugurating the projects, Eze commended the governor for developing Ebonyi state beyond the imagination of all.
“Ebonyi people have suffered in the past and you are lucky to have Umahi as your governor.
“I remember how you struggled to get a state of your own and I told the late Head of State, Sani Abacha to give you a state.
“I was the person who brought your first Military Administrator, Walter Feghabor to Ebonyi and the state has been transformed beyond recognition.
The Commissioner for Works, Mr Ogbonnaya Abara said that the flyover had reduced incessant accidents in the area being an axis of the Abakaliki/Afikpo federal highway.
