Nigerian Chef Sets New World Record In Non Stop Cooking

Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours.

Hilda earlier surpassed the previous record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019.

Lata Tondon cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds to break the previous title.

However, Hilda set a new record at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.

She cooked for 100 hours to set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual.

Baci started her cooking marathon challenge on Friday at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State.

The 27 – year old Hilda is from Akwa Ibom State and owns a food brand in Lagos called “My Food by Hilda”

7. She cooked round the clock, no sleep (Morning, afternoon, evening, and night).

She cooked different meals simultaneously and whatever she cooked was shared to the people at the venue for free.

Every meal cooked and every plate served was recorded. She cooked over 120 meals with almost 3,000 portions.

Hilda’s mother is also a chef. She owns a food brand called “Calabar Pot”.
