Governor Francis Nwifuru has restated the preparedness of his administration to improve the fortunes of Traditional Rulers of the State.

Governor Nwifuru made the pledge while playing host to members of the State Traditional Rulers Council who paid him a courtesy visit in his Office at Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki on Tuesday.
The Governor while applauding the Traditional Rulers for their support in the just concluded election, appealed to them to continue to function as agents of peace and development in their respective Communities.
Governor Nwifuru who called on the Traditional Rulers to remain independent in their conduct in order to credibly direct proceedings in their areas of coverage, maintained that insecurity would be fought to a standstill if the Royal Fathers stand for the truth at all times.
He assured that he would leave no stone unturned to better the livelihood of the royal Fathers.
“Your visit this afternoon is very unique, unique because you are at home, this is your product, all of you participated actively in making me Governor of Ebonyi State, I am very much indebted to all of you.
“There is no Traditional Ruler in my administration that will not have at least a duplex in his palace, if you go to a Traditional Rulers’ palace, there must be a difference.
“This insecurity is as a result of our inability to say the truth, to stand by the truth , the Traditional Ruler is the first person that should be independent in the Community.”
Earlier, the Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Charles Mkpuma said they were in Government House to congratulate the Governor on his recent victory in the poll.
He however solicited improved welfare package for the Traditional Rulers from the Governor.
The Governor had earlier played host to the Forum of Ebonyi Founding Fathers led by formerBy Governor Martin Elechi where he had fruitful discussions with members of the Forum on how to move the State forward.
