Gov. Nwifuru Mourns Former NUJ Secretary

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has commiserated with  Nigeria Union of Journalists , Ebonyi State Council over the death of their former State Secretary,  Dr. Kingsley Nworie.
The Governor described the former  NUJ Secretary and Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs with Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation as a tragic loss not only to the media industry but to the entire State.
The Governor also styled late Kingsley as a seasoned journalist who discharged his duties with passion , committment and professionalism  and made contributions to the development of the pen profession.
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased,  NUJ, and Nigerian Guild of Editors and encourage them to take consolation in the fact that their departed colleague lived  a good life.
Dr Nworie attended the Nigeria Guild of Editors zonal meeting at the Enugu Sports Club where he slumped and went into coma after speaking.
He was immediately rushed to the Parklane Hospital Enugu and one other hospital by his colleagues where he was  all rejected. It was at Care for the Sick hospital that the doctor provisionally diagnosed that he had Cerebral Accident that led to brain hemorrhage and advised we seek specialist care. At the dead of night, his colleagues from Ebonyi state who attended the meeting with him hired an ambulance that took him to the Alex Ekwueme Federal  University Teaching  Hospital Abakaliki where he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit and placed on oxygen.
He passed on at the wee hours of Sunday June 11, 2023  after all efforts by doctors to revive him failed.
