Ebonyi Govt trains Aviation Security Operatives, Guards, on crime management

Ebonyi State Government said it has embarked on six days intensive training of security operatives, Aviation Guards and Staff on crime management at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, Onueke, Ebonyi state.
The Commissioner of Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu who made this known in Abakaliki, said the training is aimed at sensitizing security operatives, Guards and staffs on crime management and the Do’s and Don’ts in the Civil service.
The training which took place at the Chuba Okadigbo’s airport, Onueke, was supervised by the members of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Aviation Security Officers which included Mr. Nnaji Chinedu Michael, Mr. Morah Samuel Okechukwu and Micah Precious Chijioke.
Obichukwu said that the purpose of the training was to improve the security architecture in the airport and it’s environs, to expose the Airport Guards, staffs and other security operatives on the rudiments of Flight/Airport Operations, Safety Management System, office routines and Civil Service rules.
Commissioner, Obichukwu further noted that the training was organized in line with the Governor, Francis Nwifuru’s policy of the “people’s Charter of Needs”, which according to her, will assist Workers both in the civil and public service to ensure quality and improved service delivery in the state.
She however applauded Gov. Nwifuru for the prompt payment of five months salary arrears to the staffs of the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, Onueke, Ebonyi state, who were recruited by the previous administration in the state.
The Aviation Commissioner expressed her gratitude to the Governor for his commitment in ensuring that the staff of the Ministry were trained, which according to her, will enhance effective service delivery in the Airport.
In his remarks, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Airport Security, Mr. Nnanna Nwangele, said that the training of the security operatives, Airport Guards and staff is apt, especially now, there is perceived insecurity in some parts of the country.
He noted that, henceforth, there will be adequate protection of lives and properties of the travellers and airline operators, adding that Ebonyi State is the safest state in the South East region.
