NWIFURU’S INTERVENTION ENDED KIDNAPPINGS, KILLINGS IN IVO LGA-SA SECURITY

The Special Adviser to Ebonyi State Governor on Internal Security in charge of Ivo LGA, Ike Cletus on Sunday said the prompt intervention of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s-led administration has brought to an end the incessant killings and kidnappings of innocent motorists, commuters and Indigenes of Ishiagu community.
Cletus made this known while briefing newsmen, on the achievements of Governor Nwifuru within the first 100days in office which that took place in his office at Government House Abakaliki, the state capital.
He said that the success story was recorded following the matching order given by the State Governor to Security Chiefs in the state to end the incessant kidnappings and killings within the Ishiagu axis.
Cletus emphasized that the rate of kidnappings became alarming and the Governor in his wisdom gave a matching order to both the Police, the Army and vigilante volunteers to comb the bushes where the kidnappers were operating from and ensured that no record of kidnapping was recorded in the area again.
“The matching order by the Governor to the security Agencies motivated them to go into the bushes and chase away the hoodlums and kidnappers who were before now residing in the bushes within the community.
“So all the agencies swung into action and by so doing, all the axis that the hoodlums were operating from before now we’re thoroughly and properly combed and since then we have not recorded any case of kidnapping in the area.
The Special Adviser noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state has been proactive since she assumed office in the State, adding that there has been a high level of collaboration between the Army and the Police and which has brought back peace and security in the affected areas and beyond.
The Special Adviser equally commended Governor Nwifuru for organizing a retreat for Special Assistants on Security in the state and noted that the exercise hadand helped them to understand and appreciate how best to handle and manage the security matters in the state” he stated
He applauded the applauded the State Governor for the approval to employ about 1, 450 Ebonyi indigenes into the state civil service, describing it as another way of reducing youth restiveness, criminal activities and other social vices in the State.
