ANSHA TO PARTNER SWAN FOR POSITIVE SPORTS REPORTAGE

The Anambra State House of Assembly has expressed willingness to partner members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) for positive reportage of sporting activities in Anambra State.

The Speaker, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze stated this when he received the newly elected Executive members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN , Anambra State Chapter in Awka.

He stated that the law makers will not hesitate to legislate laws that would aid the sports writers to carryout their duty of educating members of the public on sporting activities in the State.

The Speaker who congratulated the newly elected SWAN executive on their victory, charged them to come up with programmes that will impact both her members and the public.

He noted that it has become pertinent for those in leadership positions to do things differently in other to achieve desired results rather than doing things the old way which may not have yielded the needed result.

He maintained that it is in the same vein that the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo is coming up with programmes and policies that would impact on the people including the reconstruction of several failed roads and commencement of new ones across communities in the State.

Earlier in a speech, the Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN , Mr Chimezie Anaso noted that the Legislature as a strategic arm is crucial to the success Anambra government under Professor Chukwuma Soludo is scoring in the sports sector.

He appreciated the legislative arm for their support through approvals and oversight which has resulted in bringing back the lost glory days of Anambra State in sports.
