There was unprecedented joy at Afikpo Friday,when the Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Council,Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam swore-in Dame Priscillia Alu Idam as the Secretary to t Council.
The Swearing -in Ceremony which took place at the Council Hall, Afikpo attracted crowd of Party Stalwarts, Public Officers; Staff of the Council as well as friends and well wishers of the new appointee.
Speaking at the ceremony,Ibiam who expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Priscilla Alu Idam as the Secretary To The Local Government described her as a dependable and articulate political leader that will bring her wealth of experience to bear in moving the Council Area to a greater height
The Council Boss thanked the State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru; the First Lady of the State, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudaline Uzoamaka Nwifuru and the Deputy Governor,Princess Patricia Obila for making the appointment of the new Secretary to Afikpo LGA possible and promised that he would always create a conducive atmosphere for members of his team to discharge their duties without hiccups.
Earlier while administering the Oath of Office/Allegiance on the new Appointee,the Chief Magistrate of Afikpo Magisterial District, Michael Olughu Nnachi urged the new Secretary to do the right thing at all times in line with the oath that she took.
In their goodwill messages,the Traditional Ruler of Amasiri Autonomous Community, HRH Ezeogo Omezue Bassey Idam Onya; Former ALGON Chairman/Caretaker Chairman, Afikpo LGA, Mrs Amauche Otunta and the representative of the Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Matters,Jerry Okpara while congratulating HmPriscilla Alu Idam for her appointment as Council Secretary, extended their profound gratitude to Gov Nwifuru and wife for making it come to fruition.
In her acceptance speech, Dame Priscillia Alu Idam eulogized the First Family for finding her worthy to serve in that capacity and promised to join hands with the Council Chairman, Hon Uche Ibiam and his team to conceptualize projects and programmes that would deepen grassroots development in furtherance with the People’s Charter of Needs of Gov Nwifuru’s-led Government
In attendance to witness the Swearing-in included the Vice Chairman of the Council, Mrs Josephine Chinwe Nwogo; the Commissioner in Ebonyi State Public Complaints & Anti Corruption Commission, Barr Emmanuel Ogbonnia Egwu; Former Member, Ebonyi State Local Government advisory Committee,Chief Ewans Ogbonnia Ewa; LGA APC Chairman, Nicodemus Egwu; Supervisor for Works, Samuel Okpara Oko (Sam Loco); CAN Secretary,Pastor O.
