Otobeze Emerges President Of Nsukka Chamber of Commerce

The Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NSCCIMA) says it is set to transform the area into an economic hub in Enugu State.

The Director General of the Chamber, Uchenna Nnadi, said in a statement that NSCCIMA is non-religious and non-political , but an institutional economic advocate.

Nnadi said NSCCIMA seeks collaboration to make its jurisdiction the inevitable economic hub of agro production, aggregation and processing, and industrialization for investors given, what he called honey pot geography.

He announced that the Chamber would leverage on the Adada, Ebọnyị, Amanyị, Obinna and Ọmambara  rivers in the Zone which provide irrigation for all year round agro production, water supply and power generation.

He said the zone is blessed with traditional commodity markets and technical clusters.

“The clusters of traditional commodity markets throughout the Zone offer investors the opportunity for modern and global commodity exchange market, agro aggregation and processing, and industrial parks/Domestic Export Warehouse.

“The technical clusters at Ụmakashị industrial layout (Site/Mechanic Village) and Ubolo Ahọ together with the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, Federal Poly Ohodo, SUMAS, Madụka University and Iwollo Poly Campus at Ezimo offer the Zone solid foundation for industrialization and its own Silicon Valley.

“The geographical Gateway status of the economic Zone offers it the special distribution logistic centre in Nigeria, with potential for modern Trucks Transit Park, and possible Dry Port.”

Nnadi said further: “We are fortunate to have Barr Sam Otoboeze of Barr Sam Otoboeze Foundation as the new President of NSCCIMA.

He said the investiture of the President will take place at Nsukka on the 11th of November with Governor Peter Mbah and the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Chief Okey Ezea in attendance.
