According to Ossai who was a former secretary to the state council, “we have done what is expected of us as a committee, three candidates bought forms, they were screened and cleared. Today they are hereby returned unopposed.”

In a remark, the Chairman NUJ Enugu Council, Comrade Sam Udekwe while admonishing the new executive said “ You are expected to be transparent with due respect to all that they demand from you as contained in our constitution and in accordance with all the rules and regulations guiding the union.
“At this point it means that the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), FRCN chapel has continued to move on at a normal pace. The former exco had gone and another emerged, so I want to urge you to continue to live up to expectations of your members here and that of the union entirely. Whatever level you are demanded to render services you would be there to due diligence to whatever you are required to do”.
Udekwe continued “ so I want to thank you the electoral committee for doing a nice job because within a short while, some other chapels could have been given more time to do this even without ending the way you have ended.
“You have organized a coordinated election that is acceptable to the chapel and beyond.
“I also wish to thank all the members of this chapel for allowing peace to reign throughout the process, nobody has raised any eyebrow to any effect and that is to show that you have the maturity that it demands to be comrades”.

And to the new chairman he said, “it is right to do the right thing, leadership is not just about doing the right thing but it’s also having the maturity, emotional intelligence and shock absorber to accept and endure when you are condemned and even when you are doing the right thing. I pray that God will guide you in this administration in Jesus name Amen”.
In an acceptance speech, the new chairman NUJ, FRCN Enugu chapel, Comrade Obinna Ogbuka who appreciated the overwhelming support he got from majority of members of the chapel, promised to run a transparent, responsible and responsive administration, adding that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure that unity remains to the chapel.

“By God’s grace, my administration will pursue unity with tenacity of purpose and we shall achieve it. We have a lot to gain when we are united, and we have a lot to lose when we are not united. The time for politics is over. The time has come for a purposeful governance in this chapel. I assure members of the chapel that disunity will not stop if we continue to prime up individuals, let us be one in building this chapel so it can be bigger than individuals”.
