MICHAEL OGAR TAKES OVER NSCDC ANAMBRA STATE COMMAND AS OSUALA BOWS OUT OF SERVICE

A new State Commandant for the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Anambra StateĀ  has assumed duty in Awka as the 16th State Commandant.

He is Michael Ogar.

Ogar took over from Edwin Osuala who retired from public service on Thursday.

According to Edwin Okadigbo, Public Relations Officer of the Command, the new state Commandant who hails from Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State holds a Bachelor of Education ( B.Ed) degree in Political science from University of Uyo , Akwa Ibom State in 1994 and a Master’s degree in Policy and Administration Studies from the University of Calabar in 2012.

He joined the services of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in 2004 as a Chief Superintendent of Corps and has progressed his way through the ranks till 2018 when he was promoted to the rank of Commandant of Corps .

He has held several positions in the Corps notable among them as Imo State Commandant and Rivers State Commandant respectively. He also
served as Head of Intelligence & Investigation Department, NSCDC Cross River State Command, Head of Training Department,Rivers State Command, Head of Administration & Personnel Management , Kwara State Command, Head of Administration, Lagos State Command, Head of Operations Department, NSCDC Abia State Command, Head of Operations, Delta State Command. He was at the NSCDC National Headquarters Abuja until his recent deployment as the Anambra State Commandant.

Ogar has attended professional capacity development courses whichĀ  include electronic Disaster Management course in Ghana, Advanced Detective Course at Police Training College, Oji River Enugu State, Intelligence Course, Abuja, as well as Arms Training Course at Nigeria Correctional Service ( formally Prisons Service) Staff College Kaduna State.
He is a recipient of several awards, his hobbies include reading, writing and traveling. He is happily married and blessed with children.

Earlier in a brief ceremony to mark his retirement from service at the Command Headquarters Awka,Ā  Osuala said:

“I am elated to be part of the success story of NSCDC. As I bow out of service today, I will not fail to thank those who made my journey as a public servant enjoyable and memorable. I appreciate my Commandant General for finding me worthy to serve as a State Commandant, I thank the Zone K ACG for his guidance and support, special recognition to the Executive Governor of Anambra State for his operational support, I acknowledge all the service commanders for the synergy existing among all the security agencies which enabled us succeed.”

While urging officers and men to be selfless in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities, he urged them to extend their support to his successor.

In their various goodwill messages, Steve Ikeorah, the Command’s second in command, congratulated Osuala on the successful completion of his public service career. He described the retired State Commandant as one who displayed high level of professionalism throughout his working days, admitting that the Corps will miss a strong pillar who contributed immensely in addressing the major security challenges affecting Anambra State.

Francis Nnadi, Head of PGC department, described Osuala as a good man and a total package of desirable humanity who served the country diligently, and contributed to the peace Anambra State is enjoying today in terms of security.
