Nwifuru Signs Ebonyi State 2024 Budget Into Law

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi on Friday signed the state 2024 budget of N202.1 billion into law.

The budget tagged “Budget of Innovation and Success” is higher than the 2023 budget of N139.3 billion.

Nwifuru who signed budget into law in the presence of the speaker and members of the state House of Assembly, said Ebonyi was a blessed state with lots of potentialities.

“This budget would be implemented according to the ‘people’s charter of needs’ agenda of the state government.

“I thank members of the House of Assembly for the speedy hearing and passage of the budget and assure the people of its judicious implementation.

“Ebonyi is one of the states with the least budget appropriation but with prayers, it will be implemented to serve the people’s needs,”

The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Moses Odunwa said the assembly members speedily passed the budget in the interest of the state and its people.

“We commend the executive arm of government for the provisions of the budget and are optimistic that it would be duly implemented.

“We would continue collaborating with the executive arm of government to ensure good governance and delivery of democratic dividends to the people,”

The budget has a recurrent expenditure of N69.2billion while the capital expenditure is N132.8billion.
