Foremost Ebonyi Founding Father,  Mgbada Laid To Rest

The remains of Chief Felix Mgbada, foremost Ebonyi Founding Father has  been laid to rest in his country home, Okposhi, Unwuogharu community in Ezza North local government area of Ebonyi State.

Mgbada, former Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Abakaliki branch and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was born November 25, 1950.

Speaking at the event on Friday, Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by Mr Moses Odunwa, Speaker, state House of Assembly urged the family to emulate the late Mgbada on his legacies.

‘You have to emulate him on good works and legacies while praying for his soul to rest in peace,’

Mr Chigozie Nwankwor, current NBA chairman described the late Mgbada as a bridge builder, who impacted immensely on the judicial system.

”We are here today to mourn with the family. The message to them is to take heart and pray God to accept his soul in heaven,”

Mr Augustine Nwankwagu said that late Mgbada was a ”man of many parts” especially in the area of judiciary.

”We have gathered to mourn him because he was a good man. When he was the NBA chairman, I was his secretary and worked very close like a family.

I encourage the family to continue to pray and support his legacies,”

Also speaking, Mr Chukwuka Odom, NBA chairman Onueke branch in the state said Mgbada led the bar to the promise land during his days, and urged the family to sustain his legacies.

Okechukwu Mgbada, the deceased’s first son thanked all those who attended the burial, noting that the family was strengthened by their presence.

“The array of personalities here attest to our father’s greatness while alive and we would sustain the legacies he left behind,”.

Some dignitaries at the burial were: the former executive governor of the state, Chief Nwanchor Elechi, Dr Kelechi Igwe, former deputy Governor of the state among others.
