The Nigeria Olympic (NOC) has expressed support for Olufunke Oshonaike as she seeks a position on the IOC Athletes Commission.
Mr Tony Nezianya, Public Relations Officer of the NOC in a Statement notes that the election will be held during the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games, scheduled to be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
At the recent IOC Executive Board meeting, 32 athletes, including Nigerian table tennis player Olufunke Oshonaike, were approved as candidates for the election to the IOC Athletes’ Commission during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Oshonaike has competed in numerous Olympic Games and the World Table Tennis Championships.
Oshonaike is a member of the Nigeria Athletes Commission, the Olympians Association, and the Table Tennis Athletes Association.
