Denying the South East geo- political zone the opportunity to produce the next President of Nigeria by the major political parties  has turned out to be nemesis in action as those political parties, APC and PDP have been torn into serious internal crisis because of injustice meted out to Igbos in Nigeria.

This assertion was made in Onitsha, Anambra State,  by  APGA factional candidate for Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the 2023 National Assembly Election, Zeribe Ezeanuna while interacting with newsmen in Onitsha.

Ezeanuna, a former PDP chieftain in Ogbaru said that the movement sweeping across the country in favour of Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr.Peter Obi is an indication that Nigerians, especially the youths are out to right the wrongs committed by the corrupt and old political leaders who,  for years, have held the country hostage because of their personal interests.

The Achina, Aguata born politician who said he was brought up in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State before travelling to the United States maintained that tribalism, religion and sectionalism have become the bane of the nation’s politics.

According to Ezeanuna, “after spending a better part of my life in Okpoko community of Ogbaru Local Government, some people still don’t see me as a son of the soil. After an Igbo man, Yoruba man or Hausa/Fulani has lived and contributed economically and otherwise wherever he resides in Nigeria, yet he is not considered an indigene of the place”.

He lamented that politicians have not been able to address the issue of indigenisation  in Nigeria which he noted was still breeding suspicion and disunity among citizens.

Ezeanuna regretted that religion has continued to be a political weapon in the politics of the day while serious national issues are treated with levity.

While urging Nigerians to stand for justice by voting Peter Obi as the next President of Nigeria, Ezeanuna explained that it was Obi who has promised to restructure the country for good.

He, however, cautioned APC to apologize to Nigerians for breeding insecurity, hunger, mass poverty and unemployment in the polity, adding that the party has no moral ground to field a Presidential Candidate because they have nothing else to offer Nigerians.
