ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS 30 FOR KIDNAPPING, CULTISM AND ARMED ROBBERY

Anambra State Police Command says it has arrested 30 suspects for kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, and other crimes in different parts of the State between December 2023 and January 2024.

The  Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, announced this at the Command headquarters in Amawbia while briefing journalists on Monday 8th  on the activities of the Command.

He stated that operatives of the command arrested 19 suspected armed robbers, 6 suspected cult members, 12 kidnappers, 3 suspected insurgents and rescued 2 kidnapped victims.

The operatives also recovered 40 rounds of ammunition and 11 vehicles. 

Adeoye explained that Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers in all the Police formations across the State were directed to beef up security in their areas of supervision to curb the activities of criminal elements during the season.

He noted that the Command is putting up plans and actions to ensure that all the entrances that connect Anambra State with Abia, Enugu and Imo States where the hoodlums are suspected to be operating are well policed.

He called for cooperation from members of the public especially with information that will aid in apprehending miscreants in their midst.

The Police Boss called for continue support from the media with accurate dissemination  of information to the public as his Command will always provide undiluted information to the media.
