Ebonyi State Government has bought SUVs for all medical doctors working in General Hospitals across the State.
The is to ensure that the medical doctors do not convert the hospital ambulances to their private cars.
In addition, the Government has procured 52 ambulances for all the General hospitals in the State, 20 of which have been delivered.
A statement by Leo Ekene Oketa, Special Assistant to the Governor (New Media) indicates that each General hospitals in Ebonyi State will get two ambulances.
Oketa said the gesture is in line with the desire of the governor to ensure improved service delivery in government hospitals.
“The SUVs procured by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for all the medical doctors working in the General Hospitals across the State, is to ensure they work seamlessly and respond to duty calls.
“This in no small measure will give them good confidence and assurance of their welfare, having been employed by the State Government.

“It is meant as well, to ensure that they do not convert the hospital ambulances to their private cars. All the SUVs have been paid for and all of them delivered.
“Talking of ambulances… 52 were paid for, but 20 have arrived. The rest will be delivered soon
“The Governor intends to have 2 ambulances for each General Hospital in Ebonyi State.
“Ebonyi State is on the rise, and our Chief Servant is leaving no stone unturned in that regard. The Governor will deploy them soon, according to his esteemed discretion”.
