As Nigeria prepares to trade tackles with Guinea Bissau  in the final group match of the African Cup of Nations underway in Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria’s Sport Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, has some pieces of advice for the Super Eagles.

Eno wants the team to maintain their focus, determination, and team spirit.

The Minister’s message is coming on the heels of the Super Eagles’ 1-0 defeat of Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire in front of a capacity home crowd last Thursday.

Squad captain William Troost-Ekong scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot, after Africa’s best, Victor Osimhen, was hacked down by an Ivorian player inside the box.

Senator Owan Enoh stated that defeating the host nation was a good sign of the Eagle’s exceptional capabilities and
expressed delight with the team’s improved performance as earlier promised to Nigerians after their first game.

“The victory against Cote D’Ivoire is commendable, and defeating the host nation is a good sign of the team’s exceptional capabilities.

The President and football-loving people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are all rooting for you to stay victorious until the end.

“We all believe in you. It’s in you to win all through. Keep winning through all stages and bring home the trophy. We have done it before, and we can do it again. Let’s do it again”, he said.

The Minister, who highlighted the collective support of the nation, urged the Super Eagles to continue in the same spirit throughout the competition.

Senator Owan Enoh expressed confidence in the team’s ability to overcome challenges and bring pride to the Nation by clinching the Championship Trophy.
