NFF PRESIDENT,  GUSAU TO WATCH NANKA LOCAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE IN HONOUR OF ODENIGBO NANKA

All is set for the finals of 2023/2024 Nanka Champions League football tournament slated for January 1, 2024.

The final match will see 5 – time Champions, Nkpor branch take on Umuahia branch in what promises to be a battle royale.

The final is also coinciding with 40years of Prof Poly Emenike’s (Odenigbo Nanka) sponsorship of Nanka Champions League and the NFF President, Mr. Ibrahim Gusau, who is already in Anambra State will be the special guest of honour.

The presence of Gusau is to honour Prof Emenike’s giant strides in grassroot football development.

In the Semi Final matches already decided, Umuahia branch defeated Kwara branch, 8-7 on penalties after goalless full and extra time while Nkpor branch defeated 2022 Champions, Ota branch 4-3 on penalties after 1-1 draw at full and extra time. The final match between Umuahia and Nkpor takes place by 3:30pm today after the third place match between Ota branch and Kwara branch. All the matches will take place at NEROS Stadium complex Nanka.

The first, second, third and fourth prizes will smile to the bank with N1.5m, N.9m, N.6m and N.1m respectively.

Altogether 11 teams from various branches of Nanka Development Union including Student Union teams took part in the competition.
