The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, (IPMAN) Enugu deport, has Congratulated the Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr Frances Nwifuru on his victory at the Supreme Court.

The Chairman of IPMAN Enugu Depot,  Chinedu Anyaso while speaking with Journalists said the Association had also passed a vote of Confidence on the Governor for his policies and Programmes aimed at alleviating poverty and boosting the economy of the people.

According to Anyaso, the approval and appointment of an IPMAN nominated member as Special Assistant on Oil and Gas is a clear indication that the governor has the progress of the people at heart considering that the sector has a great impact on the economy of the State.

He noted that the appointment would bridge the gap between the marketers and the government which also serves as an intermediary for the resolution of any arising misunderstanding without such impacting on the people negatively.

While calling on the residents of Ebonyi State and beyond not to panic as there was no plan to increase the pump price of petrol by the NNPCL, Anyaso said the association would continue to interface with the government to ensure that consumers were not extorted for commodity that is naturally deposited in the country by God.

The IPMAN Chairman explained that part of the reasons for passing a vote of confidence on the Governor of Ebonyi State was his granting of an appeal for a consolidated internal generated revenue of one hundred thousand naira for each petrol station operating in the area.

“We want to congratulate Ebonyi state Governor on his victory at the Supreme Court and equally thank him for granting our request in giving us a slot in his government by appointing one of us his SA on Oil and Gas, it’s a welcome development”

Anyaso revealed that the association had pleaded that a trailer/ tanker park be provided for its members in the state which the governor had already accepted even though yet to be made available.

“We are equally happy that he is touching lives and empowering citizens as well as building human capital development of the State. We demanded for our members to be paying one hundred thousand naira which he approved ,we don’t have any problem of multiple taxation in Ebonyi State as in Anambra State where everything goes in terms of revenue” he concluded.
