Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA), has introduced night shifts for its personnel in a bid to pin down traffic offenders especially those that drive against traffic (popularly known as one – way).

According to the Agency, introduction of the night shifts has drastically reduced the number of persons that drive against traffic, especially from Upper Iweka to Bridge Head, once it is 5pm.

According to an ARTMA report made available to newsmen, officers are expected to do proper videos to show land marks and road signs before any vehicle is impounded.

Reacting to a recent video that caught its attention, the Agency stated “Our adhoc officer properly executed his job, and his voice note served as a comic relief for everyone except the driver of the truck who now has to face the law for his reckless action”.

ARTMA is the transport agency charged with the responsibility of maintaining proper traffic rules and regulations in Anambra State.
