Fubara Seeks NYSC Collaboration To Build Rivers State

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has urged members of the National Youths Service Corps to collaborate with his administration to resolutely and steadfastly build the state.

Fubara made the call in a message to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai at the orientation of the 2024 Batch A Stream II Corps Members deployed to the state

The governor represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Sir Samson Friday Dede, said that his administration was focused and committed to the people’s wellbeing.

“Our commitment to offer the good people of Rivers State, best democratic dividends remains sacrosanct.

“I urge you to continue being reliable and dependable partners in improving the lot of the citizens of the state.”

He vowed that his administration would continue its commitment to uplifting the youths, especially corps members as the bedrock of the society.

“I therefore charge you to be disciplined and exemplary in all you do throughout the orientation exercise and the service year at large.”

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang commended the corps members for their “zeal and enthusiasm in imbibing the core values of the scheme and actively participating in camp programmes and activities.”

“I advise you to take the nine-days in – camp skill acquisition training seriously as well as the security lectures in order to develop safety consciousness.”

The oath of allegiance on the corps members was administered by the Chief Judge of Rivers State represented by Justice Lemea Ngbor.

A total of 1,906 corps members were sworn in at the occasion.
